Emirates swaps an inch of Premium Economy pitch for an electric privacy screen.
Emirates' new A350 Premium Economy seat cuts pitch from 40 inches to 39 while adding a full-height electric privacy screen and electronic seat controls. The 2-3-2 cabin keeps 28 seats over four rows, and wireless charging, a U-Dream headrest, and a leather footrest are new, but no AC outlet appears in the announcement. JAL already flies a full-height Premium Economy divider on its A350s, just not an electric one, and both JAL and EVA Air offer 42 inches of pitch. The debut is limited to newly delivered A350s, so A380 and 777 Premium Economy cabins look set to keep the old 40-inch seat.
the play
Book the existing 40-inch Premium Economy seat on current A350s or A380s unless the electric divider and U-Dream headrest are worth an inch less legroom.
