Emirates' new A350 Premium Economy seat cuts pitch from 40 inches to 39 while adding a full-height electric privacy screen and electronic seat controls. The 2-3-2 cabin keeps 28 seats over four rows, and wireless charging, a U-Dream headrest, and a leather footrest are new, but no AC outlet appears in the announcement. JAL already flies a full-height Premium Economy divider on its A350s, just not an electric one, and both JAL and EVA Air offer 42 inches of pitch. The debut is limited to newly delivered A350s, so A380 and 777 Premium Economy cabins look set to keep the old 40-inch seat.

From 1 September, Emirates swaps a daily 777 for an A350 on Dubai-Kuala Lumpur (EK344/345), dropping First Class but adding 28 Premium Economy seats and upgraded business and economy seats. On Mauritius, two aircraft deploy 80 Premium Economy seats daily on a route that previously had none, with a refurbished A380 gaining 56 PE and 18 extra Business seats. This expands Premium Economy redemption choices on both routes while reducing First Class access on that one KUL flight.

Miles earned from June 1, 2027 will expire at the end of the month earned plus 36 months, replacing the current system where expiry hinges on your birth month and can stretch to 48 months. That is a reduction of up to a year of shelf life for new miles. Existing miles already in your account are not affected, so the window to earn under the old rules is just under ten months.

Emirates now lets travelers to Dubai change dates on any fare class unlimited times for free starting August 10, 2026. 'Free' only means no change fee—fare differences still apply and can be significant. Refund fees have dropped to $50 on Saver and $25 on Flex in economy, and similarly scaled in business. For network-wide tickets, only one free change is allowed. The flexibility is real but the cost is in the fare gap, not the fee.

Emirates is reducing its Dubai-to-Florida service in September, dropping its daily Miami flight to six weekly and slashing Orlando from seven to four weekly frequencies — a 29% overall cut. The Miami route has a fifth-freedom leg to Bogotá, Colombia, with block times up to 22h35m. If you're holding Emirates Skywards miles for a Florida award, September availability will tighten, especially on the Orlando 777-200LR and Miami 777-300ER.
