Don't book this for Cairo. EgyptAir's real product is a Singapore hop.

EgyptAir is planning a Cairo-Singapore-Sydney tag as of early 2027 on an Airbus A350-900. The direct air distance is 8,950 miles, while the Singapore routing adds only 94 miles, and the airline can undercut one-stop rivals like Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways. Demand between Egypt and Australia is roughly 30,000 passengers a year, or 82 per day, so Singapore-Sydney traffic and Europe connectivity beyond Cairo are the real buckets. Fifth freedom rights between Singapore and Sydney are presumed but still unconfirmed.

the play

Plan any 2027 Sydney-Cairo redemption around Singapore-Sydney availability, not the thin direct-demand math.

Emirates KUL loses First, gains Premium Economy. Mauritius gets 80 PE seats.

From 1 September, Emirates swaps a daily 777 for an A350 on Dubai-Kuala Lumpur (EK344/345), dropping First Class but adding 28 Premium Economy seats and upgraded business and economy seats. On Mauritius, two aircraft deploy 80 Premium Economy seats daily on a route that previously had none, with a refurbished A380 gaining 56 PE and 18 extra Business seats. This expands Premium Economy redemption choices on both routes while reducing First Class access on that one KUL flight.

the play

Book the A350 on KUL for better Premium Economy and business seats, or choose the refurbished A380 to Mauritius for the widest Premium Economy cabin at 19.5 inches and 40 inches of pitch.
